下地

The lower regions of the [lang id =1028]九地 q. v.; also the lower half of the [lang id =1028]十地 in the fifty-two grades of bodhisattva development.

此有三種解釋： 一、 三界分九地， 境界優者為上地， 劣者為下地。 二、 菩薩十地之位， 因其高下而稱上地、 下地。 三、 與上天相對之地， 亦稱下地。

三界一共分為九地， 境界惡劣的稱為下地， 境界殊勝的稱為上地。
